Long time, no write...I know.
Sorry.
I really intended to document every milestone on this blog. To share with you and for my own record. I have been terrible at updating it. But here goes:
Madison: speech explosion. Seriously, the child can say anything. I was preparing her for a visit from my brother Eric and Moriah, and Grammy and Papa this coming weekend. She has "Grammy and Papa" down, so I was just trying to get her to say "uncle Eric" she ended up saying the same thing Moriah did when she first said it, "Eggy" so that's your name Eric, Eggy. Hope you like it. She said to me, "Ridah (moriah) come home" so I think she understood she will get to see her soon.
Madison asks about her papa (moo) every, single day. "Papa work?" or "Papa home?" she'll say. I am not exagerating either, every day. She told me the other day everyone who was in her heart. I asked her where Jesus was, she pointed to her heart and said "hut (heart)". Then she told me, "Papa hut, Hope hut, Buddy hut..." on and on. I thought it was adorable.
She has been using the potty pretty regularly, of her own ambition too. I did not push it at all, I am in no rush to end her babydom...but she tells me several times a day when she has to go. She is SO proud when she has produced something in that little white bowl. She likes to check her progress too. She'll get up and look down and say, "nope..." and sit back down and then get up again and look down, "nope...." and sit back down. How cute. I can hardly stand it.
She puts all her sippy cups on the counter when she is done with them. She can do anything. If she sees the sponge, she wants to "keen, I keen" so I will give it to her and she will "clean" the fridge and the walls, or anything else that needs her "cleaning". She puts dirty clothes in the laundry basket when she see them. She tried my shoes on today and was shuffling around the house in them, when she knew it was time to take a nap she actually took them off and carried them back to my bedroom and put them away where she had found them. She put all her books back on the shelf, one by one. Crazy, not even two and she knows order. She gets that one from Matt, I assure you.
This little sprite is growing up quick I tell you, too quick.
Drew:
This man, he is 9 months now. Just started crawling about a week and a half ago. He eats SO much, you wouldn't believe it. He loves to eat, he loves to eat finger foods. He can get anywhere crawling. He started pulling up onto his knees now. A little wobbly still, but he does pretty good. He is so good-natured now, it is hard to believe I have the same child. I try to help him pull up to stand, he can't quite get it on his own yet though. I stood him up on Madison's toy today and he stayed up for a while. I recorded it of course and put it on Vimeo for you to check out. He is a happy, sweet, sweet baby. Still growling. Mostly growling and making "dada" noises. He has two teeth in the bottom now, and has three coming at once up top! Poor kid, but you would never know it except for the drool. A lot of drool. Droolin' Drew, that's what he's called round these parts.
I love these kids, I am so happy to be home to see every milestone reached. I know I should be better about documenting it for them in the future. Forgive me when you read this babies.
I almost forgot to mention, Madison knows all her letters, all her colors and loves books. She loves specifically a dry-erase board book that was Jayden's. She carries it everywhere and that is how she learned her letters. Each page has it's own letter and various pictures that start with that letter. She knows every picture in the book, exept MAybe the anvil. Who would unless you watched bugs bunny a lot, which I did.
She tells me the color of anything I touch. Her clothes, my clothes, clothes hangers, anything. She always gets it right. She calls a "W" dubby. She knows it becomes an "M" when it is turned the other way too. Crazy brilliant this kid is. She gets that from me.
